School Holiday Workshops for Kids & Teens

Sewing is a Life Skill that is important for your child. In an era when video games and TV shows provide instant entertainment for children, sewing is an inexpensive way to teach your child the joy of a creative hobby. And best of all – it’s fun!

People who didn't think they could sew are now making beautiful outfits for themselves. Everybody can sew, it's just a case of learning the basics and then practising.

In this workshop, students will learn the basics of sewing in a simple, creative and fun way, and also complete a project to take home.

Workshops will be held on the following dates:

Date:   Monday 19 April to Friday 30 April 2021 (weekdays)

Time:  10 am to 12.30 pm

Cost: $65 per workshop (includes fabric, tools and all other items required).

Topics covered:

  • Safety in the sewing room

  • The parts of a sewing machine

  • Winding a bobbin and threading a sewing machine

  • Using the presser foot

  • Sewing straight lines and pivoting

  • Different stitches and how to use them
